A fast and easy peanut butter mug cake made with just three ingredients, perfect for a quick solo dessert craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of a microwave-safe mug with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons of peanut butter into the mug.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar on top of the peanut butter.
  4. Crack 1 large egg into the mug.
  5. Stir thoroughly with a spoon or small whisk until smooth and no streaks remain, about 30 seconds.
  6. Microwave on high power for 70 to 90 seconds, starting with 70 seconds and adding 10-second increments if needed.
  7. Check doneness by ensuring the top looks firm and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let the cake rest for 2 minutes before eating.

Notes

Use room temperature egg for better mixing and rise. Do not overcook to avoid rubbery texture. Grease the mug to prevent sticking. Adjust sugar to taste. Optionally add a pinch of baking soda for more rise or a pinch of salt to enhance flavor. Can be baked in oven at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes if no microwave is available.
