A simple, festive, and crowd-pleasing patriotic charcuterie board featuring red, white, and blue ingredients arranged beautifully for any summer or holiday gathering.

Ingredients

  • Brie cheese, soft and creamy
  • Goat cheese log, plain or herb-coated
  • Sharp cheddar, sliced or cubed
  • Prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • Salami, sliced
  • Honey-glazed ham cubes (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries, washed and dried
  • Red grapes, seedless
  • Assorted crackers (multigrain and water crackers recommended)
  • Mixed nuts — pecans and almonds
  • Mini pretzels or breadsticks
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Honey or fig jam
  • Olives (black or Kalamata, optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove cheeses from the fridge 15-20 minutes before assembling to let them soften slightly. Slice the cheddar into bite-sized cubes or thin slices. Using a serrated knife, cut the Brie into wedges, keeping the rind intact. Roll the goat cheese into small balls or crumble loosely if preferred. Arrange soft cheeses close to jams or honey for easy spreading.
  2. Lay out thin slices of prosciutto and salami on a plate. Fold prosciutto slices into loose rosettes or ribbons for visual interest. Cube the honey-glazed ham and place in a small bowl if using.
  3. Rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes under cold water. Dry thoroughly with paper towels. Hull and halve the strawberries. Group fruits in clusters to create pops of color across the board.
  4. Start by positioning the cheeses evenly spaced on a large wooden or slate serving board. Add small bowls filled with nuts, jam, and olives next. Fill in gaps with meats, fruits, and crackers, layering some items slightly over others for a natural look. Add rosemary sprigs for garnish and aroma. Avoid overcrowding.
  5. Drizzle honey over some of the cheese, especially goat cheese if desired. Add a few extra nuts or berries as finishing accents. Stand back and admire your work.

Notes

Use room temperature cheeses for best flavor. For gluten-free, substitute crackers with rice crackers or gluten-free crisps. For dairy-free, replace cheeses with nut-based spreads or marinated tofu slices. Place small parchment paper squares under sticky items to prevent mess. Pre-sliced deli meats save time. Toast nuts or pretzels for extra crunch and flavor.
