Ingredients

  • Red Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) cherry or strawberry flavored gelatin
  • Red Layer: 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • Red Layer: ½ cup (120 ml) vodka
  • White Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • White Layer: 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • White Layer: 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • White Layer: ½ cup (120 ml) vodka
  • White Layer: 2 tablespoons (30 ml) triple sec (optional)
  • Blue Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry flavored gelatin
  • Blue Layer: 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • Blue Layer: ½ cup (120 ml) vodka
  • Non-stick spray or oil for greasing molds or mini cups
  • Optional: fresh berries or edible glitter for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water over the red gelatin powder. Stir until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Stir in ½ cup vodka. Lightly grease molds with non-stick spray. Pour the red mixture evenly into molds, filling about one-third full. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm but slightly tacky.
  2. Make the White Layer: Bloom unflavored gelatin by sprinkling it over ½ cup cold water. Let sit for 5 minutes. Heat ½ cup boiling water and stir into bloomed gelatin until dissolved. In a separate bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, vodka, and triple sec. Combine all and whisk until smooth.
  3. Layer the White Gelatin: Once the red layer is set but tacky, gently pour the white mixture over it slowly over the back of a spoon. Return to fridge for 30 minutes until firm.
  4. Create the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stir in ½ cup vodka. Once white layer is firm, carefully pour blue gelatin on top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set.
  5. Serve: Once fully set, gently remove jello shots from molds or peel off cups. Optionally garnish with fresh berries or edible glitter.

Notes

Let each gelatin layer cool slightly before pouring to avoid blending colors. Avoid shaking or moving molds while chilling to keep crisp layers. Lightly grease molds for easy removal. For dairy-free, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut cream. Alcohol should be about 20-25% of liquid volume to ensure proper setting.
