These easy slow cooker buffalo chicken sliders are perfect for tailgates, potlucks, or any gathering. With just 10 minutes of prep and simple ingredients, you can create tender, saucy chicken that’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buffalo hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
  • 1216 slider buns (Hawaiian sweet rolls recommended)
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing (for serving)
  • 1 bag coleslaw mix (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker. If frozen, add an extra hour to cooking time.
  2. In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together 1 cup of buffalo hot sauce and 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter. Pour over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and shreds easily.
  4. Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred with two forks or an electric hand mixer.
  5. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker with the sauce, stir to coat, and let sit on warm for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Optional: Toast slider buns on a griddle or in the oven at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Assemble sliders: Spoon buffalo chicken onto bottom buns, top with coleslaw (if using) and dressing, then add top buns. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, let shredded chicken rest in sauce for 10-15 minutes before serving. Toast buns to prevent sogginess. Double the sauce for extra flavor. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
