This copycat Starbucks pumpkin cream cold foam recipe is quick, easy, and tastes just like the original. Made with simple ingredients like heavy cream, pumpkin puree, and warm spices, it’s the perfect fall drink to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (at least 36% milk fat)
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk (or oat milk/almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (100% pure, not pie filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or brown sugar/granulated sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 tiny pinch fine sea salt
  • 1 cup cold brew coffee (or chilled strong coffee)
  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Chill your mixing bowl and frother head in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
  2. In the chilled bowl, combine 1/2 cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons whole milk, 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Whisk gently with a fork to break up the pumpkin puree.
  3. Sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and a tiny pinch of salt. Stir to distribute evenly.
  4. Submerge the frother fully into the mixture and froth for 30 to 45 seconds, moving in a gentle up-and-down motion, until the foam is thick and pourable (like melted soft serve).
  5. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes almost to the top. Pour in about 1 cup of cold brew or chilled strong coffee, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  6. Slowly pour the pumpkin cream cold foam over the back of a spoon onto the coffee to create layers.
  7. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice on top for garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, keep all ingredients cold. Do not over-froth or the foam will turn into butter. The pumpkin cream base (unfrothed) can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. For a dairy-free version, use full-fat coconut cream and oat milk. For a lower-sugar option, reduce or replace the maple syrup with a sugar-free syrup.
