This creamy, dreamy crockpot peppermint white hot chocolate is the ultimate winter treat. Simply toss everything in the slow cooker and let it work its magic while you relax.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) white chocolate chips
  • 4 cups (960 ml) whole milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ½ cup crushed candy canes, plus more for garnish
  • ½ cup (150 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional garnish: whipped cream, extra crushed candy canes, chocolate shavings, or a peppermint stick

Instructions

  1. Add the white chocolate chips to the crockpot, spreading them evenly across the bottom.
  2. Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream. Give it a gentle stir with a whisk.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk and whisk gently to combine.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and peppermint extract, then sprinkle in the pinch of salt. Whisk well.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours. After about 45 minutes, give it a quick whisk.
  6. After 2 hours, whisk the mixture until smooth and glossy. If too thick, whisk in a splash of warm milk.
  7. Stir in the crushed candy canes.
  8. Ladle into mugs and garnish with whipped cream, crushed candy canes, or a peppermint stick. Serve immediately.

Notes

Always use low heat to prevent white chocolate from seizing. Taste before adding more peppermint extract. The drink can be kept warm on the low or warm setting for several hours; stir occasionally. For a dairy-free version, use full-fat oat milk and dairy-free white chocolate chips.
