These mummy pigs in a blanket are a fun, kid-friendly Halloween treat made with crescent dough wrapped around hot dogs, baked until golden, and served with a tangy-sweet mustard dip. Perfect for parties, school events, or a cozy October dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 beef or turkey hot dogs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Optional: 24 candy eyes
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Pinch of smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent dough onto a clean cutting board. Pinch the perforations together to form a rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough lengthwise into 8-10 thin strips, about 1/2-inch wide.
  4. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, starting at one end and leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 teaspoon of water. Brush the tops of each mummy with the egg wash.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  7. While baking, make the dip: In a small bowl, whisk together mustard, honey, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika (if using).
  8. Let mummies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes. If using candy eyes, press them gently into the warm dough.
  9. Serve warm with the mustard dip.

Notes

For best results, don’t overwork the dough. Leave a gap at the top of the hot dog for the face. Watch the oven closely to avoid burning. Can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated; brush with egg wash just before baking.
